In the source area, a smart storage system takes care of the storage and retrieval of goods.
TGW Logistics partners with OPEX, a leading automation provider. The award-winning OPEX Infinity ASRS system offers unlimited flexibility and scalability, both in terms of throughput and storage capacity. It allows better use of vertical space with storage heights up to 12 meters and offers high storage density through triple-deep configurations.
Infinity robots, which can move freely in both the vertical and horizontal axes, reach the storage location without the need for any external equipment on the vertical axis. They use the available space, making them the ideal solution for small and medium-sized fulfillment projects.
After storage, mobile robots bring the goods from the source side to ergonomically designed one-to-one picking workstations, where the source tote meets the assigned target tote.
AGVs deliver target totes or cartons to the workstations on the target side via the target transportation network. A target sequencer ensures these load carriers are efficiently managed and processed according to the required sequence. This intelligent combination enables an impressive order fulfillment solution that is flexible and efficient.
Robots operating below storage and workstations improve traffic management by avoiding fixed aisles. They charge during operation and use handover ports instead of waiting, reducing downtime and minimizing the need for additional mobile robots—giving you optimal performance at a lower initial investment.
