... in a talk with Henry Puhl

We’re kicking off with none other than our CEO, Henry Puhl. Great to get to know you better, Henry!

What was your dream job as a child – and how does it compare to your current role?

Growing up abroad, I wanted to work in the diplomatic service – to explore new countries and cultures. But looking back, I’m glad it didn’t happen. Moving to a new country every few years can be quite destabilizing. Plus, in my current role, I still get to meet a variety of people and cultures, which I really appreciate.

When things don’t go as planned, how do you motivate yourself in tough moments?

  1. Activate positive memories: I think about moments that brought me joy and success – whether in my personal life or career. This inspires me to recreate those experiences and gives me the confidence to turn any situation around.
  2. Small steps, big impact: I focus on clear, manageable steps. These small wins build confidence, create momentum, and help me shift from walking to sprinting again in no time.

Who or what is your greatest inspiration?

Sport is my greatest source of inspiration – it’s my personal elixir of life. I find it especially motivating to stay active with my family, who share my passion for sports. Whether it’s hiking, running, or cycling, being active together strengthens our bond. Training with others in a sports club makes it even more enjoyable. Competing in a team is a fantastic way to experience the joy of shared goals. Right now, I’ve joined a new cycling group, and it’s amazing to meet people from all walks of life who quickly form a strong sense of community through sport.

After a long day at work, how do you truly unwind?

I pick up a good book – usually making it just one page in before falling asleep, dreaming something wonderful.

You played in a band 30 years ago can you tell us which instrument or music genre?

"Played in a band" might be a bit of a stretch. It all started when someone gave me a Ramones LP. I was blown away by the energy and immediately wanted to play guitar. After all, the Ramones only needed three chords per song – how hard could it be? A few friends and I decided we could do that too, and that’s how it all began. Step by step, we learned as we went. Unfortunately, after university, I didn’t have enough time for the band anymore. But I’ve promised myself I’ll pick it up again someday – even if my fingers are a little rusty now. 😉
