Weihnachstgeschenke 2024 Christmas Present Season Greetings

Insights: Your Christmas gift from us this year

Entrepreneurial action and social responsibility are inseparably linked at TGW Logistics. But what does that have to do with your gift?

The sole owner of TGW Logistics is the TGW Future Private Foundation. Together with social entrepreneurship (TGW Future Wings), these three elements make up the TGW world. Together, we hope to bring about positive change in society.

Charitable and effective

Since 2007, TGW Future Wings has been initiating charitable and effective projects and putting them into practice, always with the focus on young people's learning and growth, and with the goal of achieving long-term change—both for individuals and for society. One such project is the GRAND GARAGE.

The GRAND GARAGE is an innovation and education workshop in the middle of the Upper Austrian capital city of Linz. The makerspace puts roughly 4,000 m² at the disposal of young people interested in technology, serving as a place to experiment, learn and evolve, and bringing together people, knowledge and technology.

Who made my Christmas gift?

The small gift you received from us came into being thanks to a collaboration with the GRAND GARAGE. However, it was all manufactured by TGW Logistics apprentices by hand.

A few of the TGW Logistics apprentices took advantage of the special atmosphere at the GRAND GARAGE in the time leading up to Christmas, putting their artisanal skills to the test to produce this year's Christmas gifts. So, who are these talented colleagues?

  • Berke Kaan Kaptan  | age 21
Kaptan is in his fourth year of training in the area of mechatronic automation engineering. His creativity and handicraft skills are impressive.
  • Dominik Fuchsberger | age 21
Dominik is also in his fourth year of apprenticeship in the area of mechatronic automation engineering. His precision and commitment are exemplary.
  • Lucas Traunmüller | age 17
Lucas is in his third year of apprenticeship in the area of mechatronic automation engineering. His understanding of mechanical and electrical systems was a great help here.
  • Nico Leon Zauner | age 18
Nico is in his 2nd year of training and is completing an apprenticeship in electrical engineering. Nico always shows great interest and goes about his work with great enthusiasm.

How are the TGW Future Wings projects financed?

The ownership structure of TGW Logistics provides a safe environment because, as a foundation-owned company, it cannot be sold. Generally speaking, two thirds of our annual profit remain in the company as an investment in our employees, in modern infrastructure, and in research and development.

The remaining third of the operating profit flows back to our owner, the TGW Future Private Foundation. In accordance with the legally binding deed of foundation, at least 30 percent of that amount is earmarked for charitable projects like the GRAND GARAGE. These projects are required to promote learning and growth, and to be devoted to the topic of education and innovation.
