WCS Technician (M/F/D)*
As WCS Technician you will have a detailed understanding of the product flow through the TGW automated solution and be a key customer contact for technical support queries, providing oversite, housekeeping, and optimisation. You will identify root causes, understanding if issues lie with the TGW Warehouse Control system (WCS), Client Warehouse Management System (WMS) or elsewhere.
The WCS technician is a pivotal customer-facing role, you will support the customer in realising improved system performance, whilst ensuring TGW values and commercial efforts are maintained. Identifying opportunities for change requests that can be sold to the customer is key, enhancing overall TGW profitability. Working cross-functionally with other WCS departments in identifying and resolving bugs to ensure our products are reliable and the customer has a positive experience is an indicator of success in the role.
What you'll be handling:
- To provide professional first line support for Operational Flow optimisation of the automated solution. This includes capture of information (log files, database backups) for use for further investigation.
- Provide technical support to the next support level such as WCS Hotline in the event of an issue being escalated. This includes detailed and concise information documented on the ticket system in place.
- To monitor trends and action plans to prevent issue escalation. Both with the WCS system and system hardware and infrastructure
- To undertake training of resident LTS personnel and advice the Client where applicable in potential improvement opportunities.
- Monitor order data in order to communicate potential redundancy in areas to LTS for maintenance.
- To record detailed information relating to downtime for WCS / Flow issues in order to feed into the availability model.
- Detailed and in-depth understanding of the material flow of the whole TGW automated solution
- Investigation and analysis of data and flows to identify potential areas for improvement and optimization throughout the project
What you'll need:
Required
- Experience in working with WCS and/or WMS applications within the automation industry
- Automation Support Experience or experience with supporting and monitoring of integrated applications such as SCADA or .SAV
- Materials Handling experience
- Experience with log file investigation
Preferred
- BTEC Level 3 in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in writing technical documents
- Knowledge of writing SQL queries to gain information from database tables
