With a wide product range of over 700,000 articles, Conrad Electronic is renowned as a paradise for fans of electronic devices and other tech gear. However, after the multi-channel retailer experienced years of strong growth, the company's distribution centre in Wernberg, Bavaria, started to run up against its performance and capacity limits. Conrad decided the central warehouse facility. The heart of the new system is a powerful, highly dynamic shuttle system with goods-to-person order picking workstations.

In addition to production, Heinrichsthaler Milchwerke has also automated its palletising process to improve the quality of the supply chain and guarantee faster delivery. The result was an automated palletising system that is directly linked to production. Thanks to the central palletising system, Heinrichsthaler was able to double its output to 100 pallets per hour. The solution is ideal thanks to the high level of flexibility and reliability it offers.

The German poultry processing company Wiesenhof rebuilt its meat processing facility, including its distribution centre. The solution, in two different temperature zones for refrigerated and freezer goods, ensures maximum availability and flexible material flows for cartons and meat crates that conform to European standards. Innovative automation technology is utilised in a partly redundant design. The products themselves either come from in-house production or are delivered externally in order to be consolidated in the distribution centre as well as prepared for combined shipping.
