Field Services Technician

TGW Logistics Group is a leading systems provider of highly automated, flexible solutions supporting distribution and fulfilment for leading retailers and global brands in e-commerce, apparel, general merchandise, and grocery. We are now recruiting for a Field Services Technician to join our growing team in the Southern Europe Hub.

The Field Services Technician provides optimum support to TGW intra-logistics-solutions on site and thus guarantees the highest possible availability of TGW customers' installations during its whole life cycle. In addition, following client’s requirements, check status of the installation in order to propose and, if required, execute improvements and retrofits at customer site.

What you'll be handling:

  • Carrying out maintenance, inspection and repair work on electromechanical equipment on site.
  • Providing mechanical training to key users and customers.
  • Refurbish mechanical components at customer sites.
  • Perform the role of team leader on assemblies: Take responsibility for the performance and execution of work, schedule and costs of installations.
  • Prepare documentation and reporting. 
  • Acting as a preventive resource: improving good practice in field service operations.
  • Performing emergency assistance services: on-call.
  • Realize continuous improvement tasks at client’s sites. Analysis, proposals and executions if required.
  • Management of incident resolution down to their root causes

What you'll need:

  • Vocational Training or Higher Education Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience in working in an operational or multi-skilled engineering role within an automated environment (preferably automated materials handling)
  • Independent and solution-oriented method of working as well as stress resistance.
  • Ability to work in a time critical environment.
  • Willingness to travel for up to 70%-80% around Spain and collaborations with other TGW units, principally UE.
  • English skills; French would be valuable.
