Resident Automation Controls Technician
The Resident Automation Controls Technician supports our customer on automation topics related to controls and software. This position requires a broad-based electrical, mechanical, and controls skillset along with a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the site’s performance. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Controls Technician must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.
What you’ll be handling
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and controls issues as quickly and practically as possible to achieve optimal performance. Perform root cause analyses, document troubleshooting steps, and record controls solutions
- Coordinate with internal Controls Department for enhancements, upgrades, and change control.
- Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems/
- Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
- Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
What you’ll need
- Associate degree or Technical Certificate in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
- Strong ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics for use in diagnostics.
