Sustainability

Sustainability at TGW Logistics

Your Impact Matters

Sustainability lies at the heart of everything we do at TGW Logistics. As a foundation-owned company, a portion of our revenue is retained for research and development, keeping us at the forefront of sustainable logistics. Another part is allocated to the TGW Future Wings Foundation, who supports non-profit organisations driving social change.

Our Holistic Approach

Our aim is to publish a comprehensive sustainability report by the end of the 2025/26 fiscal year. To ensure full transparency, the data will follow the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) enabling consistent and comparable reporting. Released annually alongside our annual report, the sustainability data will serve as a roadmap towards a more sustainable future.

A holistic approach to sustainability across the three ESG areas - Environment, Social, and Governance - is essential. With our Sustainability Roadmap, we are laying the foundation for a successful and sustainable future together. One thing is clear - sustainability is not a solo project. Only by working together can we achieve great things. This is the message behind our guiding principle, ‘Your impact matters.’

Our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We have adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a collection of 17 global objectives aimed at addressing the challenges facing societies around the world. We have identified eight SDGs that are relevant to our company and have integrated them into our sustainability roadmap.

  • Good Health and Well-Being – We take proactive measures to ensure the occupational health and safety of our employees.
  • Quality Education – We donate a portion of our revenue to the TGW Future Wings Foundation, which supports young people in realising their dreams through innovative educational programmes.
  • Gender Equality – TGW Logistics firmly believes that gender discrimination must end. We work to create a strong and trusting environment in which inappropriate behaviour can be reported without fear of prejudice.
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth – We protect labour rights, promote safe and secure working environments, comply with employment legislation, and uphold the principles of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
  • Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – We use technology and expertise to drive growth, innovation, and efficiency, while making affordable, sustainable logistics solutions accessible to our global partners.
  • Responsible Consumption and Production – We promote the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources by applying a circular economy model to minimise environmental impact throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Climate Action – We take steps to mitigate climate change and minimise environmental impacts wherever possible.
  • Partnerships for the Goals – We maintain open dialogue with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of sustainable initiatives.

Taking Action to Reach Our Goals

We have translated our Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into six key fields of action to ensure we are doing everything possible to maintain sustainable operations—both internally and at our clients’ sites.

Transparency, accountability, and reporting

We aim to maintain complete transparency when reporting data to stakeholders. This includes clearly defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and responsibilities.

Decarbonisation

We are committed to supporting the European Union’s target of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. By setting ambitious goals, we are doing our part to contribute to a more sustainable future and help drive positive change.

Circulatory and lifestyle approach

We consider the entire lifecycle of our systems when developing innovative solutions for our partners. Our experts take proactive steps to minimise the environmental impact of our work.

Value chain and stakeholder engagement

Our stakeholders understand TGW Logistics’ ambitions for a better tomorrow. Due diligence and supply chain resilience are vital components of our value chain.

Integrity and diversity

Enhancing personal integrity in the workplace is a core priority at TGW Logistics. We have cultivated a working culture where inclusion and diversity are essential.

Health and safety

We strive to maximise health and safety, enabling our employees to lead fulfilling lives—both inside and outside the workplace. This includes on-site measures such as noise reduction and design protocols that lead to ergonomic workstations.

We Make Sustainable Warehouse Operations Possible

At TGW Logistics, we recognise the critical importance of sustainability—not just because it lies at the heart of our philosophy, but also because it is essential to our partners. We understand the challenges of achieving and maintaining sustainable operations while continuing to meet customer demands. That is why we are committed to enabling sustainable business growth, helping our partners strike the ideal balance between efficiency and ESG responsibility.

Our Energy-Efficient Solutions

Our sustainable logistics systems are equipped with features that reduce energy consumption. The innovative ‘eco mode’ adjusts system speed during periods of low demand, while the ‘off mode’ functionality powers down non-essential systems when not in use. These advancements lower energy costs, minimise wear, and reduce noise. We offer these as optional add-ons, ensuring tailored, energy-efficient solutions for your logistics system.

Sustainable Construction Methods

We adhere to DGNB Gold Standard construction methods—a globally recognised framework for assessing and certifying the sustainable nature of buildings, neighbourhoods, and interiors. Our construction practices support environmental protection, cost savings, improved health and well-being, and social benefits. These practices are aligned with our broader corporate objectives, allowing us to promote long-term resilience throughout our operations.

Green Steel Projects

Using green steel in our warehouse logistics systems supports environmentally friendly strategies by significantly reducing the carbon emissions associated with material production. Green steel has the potential to cut emissions by up to 90% or more, making it a vital solution for decarbonising industries. This aligns with our environmental objectives by enabling the creation of durable, eco-friendly infrastructures, while also promoting a circular economy through the use of recycled materials.

Product Carbon Footprint

Calculating the product carbon footprint provides vital insights into the environmental impact of our products, enabling us to identify opportunities for improvement, enhance efficiency, and meet growing regulatory and customer expectations around sustainability. By understanding our carbon footprint, we can make data-driven decisions to reduce emissions, optimise processes, and contribute to global climate goals. At TGW Logistics, we have partnered with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute to ensure a precise and scientifically validated assessment—reinforcing our commitment to transparency and continuous environmental improvement.
