Resident Engineering Team Leader - Didcot (M/F/D)*
As the Resident Engineering Team Leader you will lead a team of Engineers and Technicians responsible for the maintenance of a fully automated distribution system. You will be the primary point of contact for the customer concerning the day-to-day operations on-site.
You will also lead all continuous improvement activities that underpin site performance and support the delivery of the maintenance strategy.
What you'll be handling:
- Lead a team of Maintenance Engineers, Technicians and apprentices
- Co-ordinate all maintenance activities, planned repairs and reactive repairs of the automated equipment on site, both TGW and third party
- Support the automation to operate at its maximum efficiency ensuring that the customers’ orders are not missed
- Complete all necessary reports, inclusive of near miss and hazard reporting, shift, maintenance tasks, spare parts usage and toploss, whilst working in DART, CMMS, .SAV Assure and Teams software platforms
- Attend daily customer meetings providing any updates on the automation
- Cover the Site Engineering Manager during holiday and sickness periods
- Manage escalations onsite in line with TGW’s escalation procedure
- Ticket management for remote support
- Drive continuous improvement activities on site
- Be operationally minded with all decisions
- Promote health and safety onsite
- Comply to all current, future health and safety legislation at all times
What you'll need:
Essential
- Minimum NVQ level 3/BTEC HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline
- Experience leading a leading team
- Strong Electrical and Mechanical maintenance engineering background
- Working knowledge of Siemens S7, Profibus, Canbus, Profinet and ASI Bus
- Proficient communication skills and customer focused
- Ability to work in a time critical environment
Desirable
- Previous experience working within Materials Handling Equipment
- Experience working in maintenance within logistics environments
