Electrical Installation Supervisor (M/F/D)*

As the Electrical Installation Supervisor you will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of the electrical installation activities on TGW projects ensuring they are on-time, effective, high quality, professional and economical.

You will also ensure that all electrical installations comply with the latest relevant regulations and that all tests are performed and recorded in accordance to these regulations.

This is a UK based role with regular travel expected to sites across the UK and Northern Europe.

What you'll be handling:

  • Coordinate the electrical installation with the upstream and downstream trades and systems to be integrated, e.g. Site Management, Mechanical Installation, Commissioning, Third-party machines, fire protection gates, etc
  • Attend regular project coordination meetings with relevant project team members 
  • Monitor and audit the electrical installation with regard to quality and compliance with the contractual and normative requirements, including sign off of inspection checklists and completed installation test sheets in preparation for final documentation
  • Monitor the progress of the electrical installation and produce a weekly written reports on the work being carried out and identify any deviations from the plan 
  • Ensure that when the unit cost costing process is used for electrical installation then the figures submitted by the installer are accurate
  • Record and approve any extra hours or costs associated to the electrical installation 
  • Ensure test results from 3rd party electricians are following safety procedures such as LOTO before during and on completion of work 
  • Carry out quality / completeness check of the electrical installation before handing the area over to the controls commissioning team
  • Follow the red pen documentation process ensuring that at all times there is a master set of drawings, including all red pen changes, accessible to all on site
  • Be the first escalation point of contact on site for the electrical controls topics, if necessary manage further escalation to the responsible TGW site manager or the Project Manager Controls (PrMC) depending on the topic


What you'll need:

Essential 

  • Background in electrical engineering 
  • Familiar with automated handling, manufacturing or logistics systems 
  • Experience of site installation and management
  • Relevant electrical engineering qualification at BTEC, NVQ, HNC, HND level
  • Good communication skills at all levels of the business 
  • Willingness to travel regularly 

Desirable 

  • General knowledge of control systems architecture and operation 
  • Commercial awareness of electrical installation topics, including an understanding of Cost Vs Benefit analysis
  • Knowledge of TGW’s products 
  • Continuous Improvement mindset, always looking to improve what we do an to eliminate any ‘waste’ from the process
  • Good knowledge of British and European standards that are relevant to the controls automation industry
