Controls Technician
TGW Logistics Group is a leading systems provider of highly automated, flexible solutions supporting distribution and fulfilment for leading retailers and global brands in e-commerce, apparel, general merchandise, and grocery. We are now recruiting for a Controls Technician to join our growing team in the Southern Europe Hub.
The Controls Technician will be responsible for the on-site commissioning of electromechanical equipment of automated material handling and storage systems at our customers.
What you'll be handling:
- Thorough commissioning preparation (documents, tools, spec sheets, software, functional specification, services ...)
- Compliance with general and operator-specific safety procedures
- Safety at the construction site, initial evaluation, re-evaluation at the construction site, occupational health and safety instructions for assigned internal staff, monitoring and documentation of topics relevant for construction site safety, handover of documentation to project manager according to schedule
- Interface test of high-level MFS interface
- Identification of errors and improvement potentials (CIP) – own/of third parties
- Correction/modification of order documents in case of changes during commissioning; timely forwarding of modified documents to the author/creator
What you'll need:
- Technical education (electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar; at least completed apprenticeship with additional qualification)
- Experiences with PLC programming with SIEMENS S7 TIA portal, preferably FUP and SCL, and bus systems (Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, CAN and ASi)
- Practical experience with variable-speed drives (three-phase asynchronous + servo drives; frequency converters)
- Construction site and professional experience (materials handling & logistics) desirable
- Fluent level of English and Driving licencse B
