A Controls Engineering Apprentice and play a vital role in the successful delivery of our projects. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience across all aspects of Controls engineering, working as part of project teams.

What you'll be handling:

Year 1: Full-time college study for a Level 3 Diploma

Pre-Site Phase: Assist with cost estimates, electrical device layouts, cable calculations, electrical circuit diagrams, SCADA layouts, emulation model creation, and PLC software/hardware configuration.
Site Phase - PLC Work: Set up PLC hardware, perform full Level 1 PLC commissioning, check I/O, configure sensors, motor speed/direction, and perform manual operation checks using SCADA.
Testing & Issue Resolution: Identify and rectify hardware/electrical faults, document changes to electrical drawings, and work with the team to test and verify PLC functionality.
Communication & Documentation: Attend daily meetings, update check sheets and progress trackers, and ensure changes are communicated to the project and design teams.
General Responsibilities: Promote health & safety, uphold company standards, contribute to best practices and process improvements, and manage self-development.

What you'll need:

  • Enjoy interacting with a diverse range of people across different teams and departments.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites across Northern Europe.
  • Minimum of 4x Grade 4 in GCSE English, Maths, and Science (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Enthusiastic about Engineering
  • Age 18+
  • Hold a UK Driving LicenceĀ
