Project Planner

(M/F/D)*

As the Project Planner you will ensure the successful delivery of high value and complex automated logistics projects through effective scheduling, resource allocation, and progress monitoring by supporting the Project Management team. You will also be responsible for developing detailed project plans, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and maintaining clear communication on project timelines. Collaborate with Project Core Teams to identify risks, optimise resources, and ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

WHAT YOU'LL BE HANDLING

  • Develop and maintain Project Schedules using Microsoft Project-online (MPM), ensuring alignment with project scope, sub-plans, key milestones
  • Ensure JIRA/LMS software modules are linked to the schedule and maintained
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and core team members (engineering, procurement, construction, etc.) to gather input and ensure the project schedule is realistic and achievable
  • Monitor and report progress against the baseline schedule and produce regular status updates, identifying any variances
  • Develop and distribute progress reports, highlighting key accomplishments, upcoming activities, and potential risks to the schedule
  • Conduct “look-ahead” analysis and critical path analysis 
  • Perform to identify key project tasks & highlight areas of potential delay
  • Analyse variances from the baseline schedule and provide actionable insights to project manager on how to recover delays or reallocate resources
  • Support project reviews with the project manager and core team to assess schedule performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for scheduling-related inquiries, providing clear, concise updates to project stakeholders (internal teams, clients, etc.)
  • Continuously improve scheduling processes by leveraging lessons learned from previous projects, ensuring efficient planning and execution
  • Provide guidance and training on Microsoft Project and scheduling principles to project team members as needed

What you'll need

Essential 
  • Experience in project planning or scheduling in an engineering, construction, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing complex project schedules and working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project for creating, updating, and managing project schedules
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment where task deadlines can change
  Desirable
  • Good knowledge of automated equipment and materials handing solution
  • Knowledge of project planning methodologies such as Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Project Planning & Control (PPC) and/or APM qualifications
